What should you order first at I Love Taimei?

If it’s your first visit, order the combo that defined the brand when it opened in 2009: XXL Taiwan Fried Chicken + Brown Sugar Bubble Tea. The chicken is thigh meat, marinated 24 hours and fried to order; the sweet milk tea cuts through the salt and spice. That pairing is the heart of the menu.

After that, the three things most regulars come back for:

  • Taiwan Popcorn Chicken — bite-sized, basil-fried, the night market classic. The easiest thing to share.
  • Braised Chicken Rice (Lu Rou Fan) — ILTM’s no-pork take on the Taiwanese comfort-food staple. Warm, savoury, filling.
  • Taiwan Seafood Tempura — fish-paste tian bu la, crispy outside and springy inside. More on what Taiwan tempura actually is.

What’s on the drinks menu?

The drinks list is the largest part of the menu. The main families:

  • Milk Tea Series — the core range, including the signature Brown Sugar Milk Tea (the canonical chicken pairing) and the heritage 1988 Milk Tea, a three-layer recipe.
  • Mood Tea (Golden Chrysanthemum) — the wellness-leaning line with chrysanthemum, moringa, goji, and snow fungus. Full breakdown of the Chrysanthemum series.
  • Yakult Gold Series — Yakult-based fruit drinks.
  • Sparkling Series — fizzy fruit teas (large size only).
  • Flavoured Tea Series — lighter fruit and jasmine teas.

You can customise most drinks with toppings (Pearl, Aiyu Jelly, Konjac and more) and adjust sweetness and ice. For the chewy “QQ” texture, add Pearl; for something lighter, Aiyu or Grass Jelly. More on boba pearl types and QQ texture.

Is the I Love Taimei menu halal?

I Love Taimei does not hold halal certification. However, every item on the menu is prepared with no pork and no lard, and the brand serves no beef either. For the full dietary breakdown, read is I Love Taimei halal?
