Most people think trick-or-treating here means knowing someone in a condo that does it. Not this year. West Mall in Bukit Batok is running a free Trick or Treat Hunt on Saturday, 31 October 2026, right next to Bukit Batok MRT. There’s also a free Mr Pumpkin meet-and-greet on 30 and 31 October. Bring the kids in costume, then walk down to B1 for fried chicken at our West Mall outlet.
What’s on at West Mall this Halloween?
West Mall’s own events page lists four Halloween things. Here’s the short version:
- Eco Spooktacular Market โ 23 October to 1 November. Free to walk in. Two listings put it at 11am to 9pm.
- Get Up Close with Mr Pumpkin โ 30 and 31 October, at 1pm, 4pm and 7pm. Free.
- Halloween Face Painting โ 30 and 31 October. This one isn’t free โ you need a pass that comes with a minimum spend at the mall.
- Trick or Treat Hunt โ 31 October only. Free.
We checked all of this against West Mall’s events page, Sassy Mama’s Halloween list and Miss Lobang’s 2026 round-up. The sources don’t agree on the exact minimum-spend amount, so we’ve left it out. Ask at the customer service counter if you’re going for the face painting.
What time does the trick-or-treat hunt start?
Honest answer: no time has been posted yet. Not on the mall’s page, not in any listing we could find. The mall itself is open 10am to 10pm, so the hunt falls somewhere in there.
Our practical tip? Line it up with a Mr Pumpkin slot โ 1pm, 4pm or 7pm on the 31st โ so you get two things done in one trip. And check West Mall’s website or socials the week before. Event details at a mall can change without much notice, so don’t plan the whole day around one listing.
Is it worth the trip for the kids?
If you’re in the west, yes lah. It’s indoors, so no sweating it out under the sun, and no wet costumes if it rains. It’s right next to the MRT, so no long walk with a tired kid in a cape. And the main bits cost nothing.
If you’re coming from the other end of the island, it’s a short, simple outing โ not a full-day event. Pair it with lunch or dinner and it’s a solid Saturday.
One thing to note: we’re a tenant at West Mall, not an organiser. This is the mall’s event, and we’re just telling you about it because it’s happening upstairs from our fryer.
Where to eat after: I Love Taimei, West Mall
Our outlet is at 1 Bukit Batok Central Link, #B1-K17, West Mall, Singapore 658713. We’re open Mon-Sun 11:00-21:30 โ heads up, that’s 30 minutes earlier than most of our outlets. If you’re catching the 7pm Mr Pumpkin slot, come down right after, not at 9.45pm.
What to get with kids in tow:
- Taiwan Popcorn Chicken ($6.90) โ bite-sized, fried with basil, easy for small hands. You can ask for no basil if your kid is picky about green bits.
- Original Chicken ($6.90) โ chicken thigh, not breast, so it stays tender. The cleanest flavour if it’s someone’s first time.
- Tofu Fries โ a vegetarian-friendly side that disappears fast at a table of kids.
